Analysts are looking for an increase of 1.5% from the same time last year and 0.4% from the prior month. Adding to the mix will be quarterly earnings from several of the largest U.S. retailers this week, starting with Home Depot before the open Tuesday. The home improvement retailer is expected to report earnings per share of $4.46 on revenue of $42.2 billion, and analysts will be watching to see how same-store sales fared and what executives say about spending by do-it-yourself homeowners.
